TGIF! Classic African tunes – East African edition

Following the editions from the Southern, Central and Western regions of the continent, here are some songs from my home territory, East Africa. Thanks again for all the recommendations from Facebook fans and tweeps.

Mama, this is dedicated to you!

A quick heads up: there's a special interview treat for you, with a visionary social entrepreneur of East African origin, TMS Ruge of Project Diaspora, coming later today.

  1. Good selection! Glad that people do remember the golden age. You’d like to listen to “Matamshi” and “Simimi” by Issa Juma, “Christina” by Maroon Commandos!

  2. Glad you guys enjoyed it. I was debated whether to include Habel Kifoto and the Maroon Commandos – good call John and Mose. I think there will need to be a second edition … stay tuned 🙂
