Inspired: Beaded Jewellery from the ROOTS PROJECT in South Sudan

The ROOTS PROJECT is a non-profit based in Juba, Southern Sudan, founded by Anyieth D'Awol. Its Centre offers classes on traditional and contemporary arts and crafts which, are attended from women and men from different backgrounds. The aim is to offer opportunities for social and economic empowerment, preserve local cultures and to create a positive environment that fosters understanding and tolerance.

The Centre also promotes independent artists by selling their wares in its shop and holding exhibitions. Works include jewellery, handmade leather goods, pottery, paintings and carvings. I'm loving the beaded necklace/top above (anyone know what it's called?)
