TGIF! with Sizzla – African women, Zimbabwe & the Babylon debate

Sizzla-ghetto-youth-ology

I love this song by Sizzla. Makes me feel very special, being an African woman and all 🙂

My cousin shared this relatively new Sizzla video with me, earlier this week: "Zimbabwe".

"Don't bow down to Babylon" he sings. What do you think about the whole down with Babylon concept? Not just in this song, but in Rasta culture in general.

Is it useful in mobilising people towards constructive action or does it promote victim-mentality and shirking of responsibility? I would love to hear your thoughts!
