“Africa is as much a global phenomenon as a continent.”
— Chris Spring, author of Angaza Afrika
I was in the bookstore the other day when I came across the book which is a collection of work from 70 contemporary African artists. It's wonderful to see such a variety of themes, media and expression on display, challenging any preconceptions of what African art is (the answer – boundless!).
There was an Angaza Afrika exhibition held in 2008 at the October Gallery and you can still virtually visit via this link.
